Five FC Dallas Player Named to USMNT Preliminary Gold Cup Roster

FRISCO, Texas - Five current FC Dallas Homegrowns, Justin Che, Jesús Ferreira, Ricardo Pepi, Paxton Pomykal and Tanner Tessmann, have been included in the U.S. Men's National Team Gold Cup preliminary roster. Former FCD Homegrowns Kellyn Acosta and Reggie Cannon were also named to the preliminary squad. 


The U.S.'s 60-man preliminary roster was released by Concacaf today, Friday, June 18. The final 23-man roster will be released ahead of the tournament which begins its first preliminary round on July 2. The U.S. will kickoff its tournament at the Group Stage round on Sunday, July 11 at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City. The USMNT is in Group B alongside Canada, Martinique and a fourth country that will be decided after the two preliminary rounds. 


FC Dallas midfielder Bryan Acosta was also named to Honduras' preliminary squad which will compete in Group D against Grenada, Panama and Qatar. Former FCD Homegrown Moises Hernandez (who played for the club between 2010-16 and 2018-19) was also included in Guatemala's provisional squad that will begin play at the preliminary round.
