Dallas won a corner in the first minute of the match and Michael Barrios found Santi Mosquera on a short corner. Mosquera made a move towards the middle of the field and Matt Hedges was able to head the ball into the back in of the net, in the 48th second, on his far-post run.

“I thought it was a great game from us and that we played really well,” Matt Hedges said. “We had the better chances, the better run of play and it just didn’t happen for us. We’ll take the point but it could’ve been three.”

After giving up a goal in the 8th minute, FC Dallas settled back down and controlled the game and its possession for most of the night. Tesho Akindele had a good chance in the 36th minute, but was unable to get a clean shot off.

The second half created even more chances for Dallas. Michael Barrios was taken down in the box in the 59th minute, but Roland Lamah’s penalty kick was saved by Joe Willis.

Lamah had another really good chance in the 71st minute, but his shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out for a goal kick.

“We created a lot of chances, we just need to finish in the final third and then we should be okay,” midfielder Victor Ulloa said.
