CURRENT FORM

  • FC Dallas' four-game unbeaten streak was ended with a narrow 3-2 loss away to Minnesota Wednesday night. They face a Dynamo team that's unbeaten in six, a run which includes a three-game win streak. Houston earned a 1-1 draw away to Colorado last time out. This is the second Texas Derby in less than a month, with the teams playing to a scoreless tie at BBVA Stadium on Aug. 21.

ANDRÉS RICAURTE

  • New midfield signing Andrés Ricaurte made his FC Dallas and MLS debut last time out against Minnesota. The Colombian entered the game at halftime and almost immediately began pulling the strings and orchestrating Dallas' attacks. His positive impact on the game was a huge bright spot for FCD, especially considering that fellow attacking midfielder Paxton Pomykal will be sidelined for six months following surgery on his hip. Ricaurte could be looking at his first start this Saturday.

REYNOLDS STEPS UP

  • Nineteen-year-old defender Bryan Reynolds got his first start of the season against Minnesota, filling the right back role vacated by fellow Homegrown Reggie Cannon who completed his transfer to Portuguese side Boavista F.C. this week. Reynolds performed admirably and got his second-career assist after setting up Ricardo Pepi for Dallas' first goal. This is Reynolds' chance to make the starting right back spot his own going forward.

OPTIONS OFF THE BENCH

  • Dallas' game with Minnesota featured a number of players making an impact off the bench. In addition to Ricaurte, Santi Mosquera and Dante Sealy entered the game late on and made their presences known. Mosquera scored his first goal of the season and Sealy showed off his array of dribbling and playmaking skills to good effect. While they may not be Luchi's starting lineup against Houston, they could definitely get another chance from the subs bench to push the game in FCD's favor.
