2020 Lineup Notes DL V2

FRISCO, Texas – Both Paxton Pomykal and Kobra start as Luchi Gonzalezreverts back to his standard 4-3-3 formation for tonight's rematch against Nashville SC at Toyota Stadium. Let's dive a little deeper into Luchi's changes in today's Lineup Notes presented by UnitedHealthCare.

LINEUP NOTES, pres. by UnitedHealthcare: FC Dallas vs. Nashville SC | 8.16.20 -

Back to His Roots
Luchi has decided to switch back to his preferred 4-3-3 formation after experimenting with a 3-5-2 in last Wednesday's 1-0 defeat to Nashville. Defender Bressan drops to the bench as Luchi opts for the proven center back partnership of Matt Hedges and captain Reto Ziegler

Paxton & Kobra Start
With last week's striker duo of Michael Barrios and Franco Jara blanking, Luchi has inserted Pomykal and Kobra into the front three. Barrios moves into his familiar right wing spot while Jara retreats into an attacking midfield role in place of Jesús Ferreira. Now with two traditional strikers and Pomykal's creativity on the left wing, Luchi's message is pretty clear: Go for it.

Nelson in for Hollingshead
The biggest surprise in tonight's lineup is the absence of defender Ryan Hollingshead who is unavailable for tonight's game. Hollingshead recently travelled home to California to attend the memorial of his father who passed away before this season. Since he flew commercially, Hollingshead is self-isolating as a precaution. Second year defender Johnny Nelson replaces him at left back for his fifth career MLS start and his first of 2020.
