2021 Season

LINEUP NOTES, pres. by UnitedHealthcare: FC Dallas vs. Austin FC | 8.7.21

2021 Lineup Notes

FRISCO, Texas - Head coach Luchi Gonzalez makes one change to his starting lineup as FC Dallas takes on Austin FC for the very first time tonight, Aug. 7 at 7:30PM at Toyota Stadium. Here's the lineup notes, pres. by UnitedHealthcare.

Ricaurte for Cerrillo
Andrés Ricaurte returns to the midfield tonight in place of Edwin Cerrillo. When playing at home, Luchi tends to favor Ricaurte over the more defensive minded Cerrillo in central midfield. It’s the Colombian’s ninth start and 15th appearance of the season.

Front Four
The front four of Ricardo Pepi, Paxton Pomykal, Szabolcs Schön and Jesús Ferreira all start together for the fourth consectuive game. Collectively, the quartet has scored five of FCD's last seven goals. Although fellow forward Franco Jara is on the subs bench once again, don't be surprised if you see him feature in the second half (like he did to good effect last time out in Seattle), especially if Dallas is chasing a goal.

Acosta
Midfielder Bryan Acosta is on the bench for the second consecutive match after returning from the Gold Cup with Honduras. The 27-year-old featured off the bench last game in Seattle, playing 24 minutes and helping Dallas earn a late point on the road. Acosta has been one of FCD’s standout performers over the first half of 2021, so there’s a good chance he’ll get another shot tonight in the second half.
