The Frisco Fire Department unveiled an FC Dallas-themed truck Thursday morning at Frisco Fire Station 4 with a traditional push-in ceremony which saw members of the FC Dallas front office, Frisco FC Fire Chief Mike Piland and members of the Frisco Fire Department physically push the truck into the station.
“Frisco is the home of FC Dallas and the National Soccer Hall of Fame, so we’re really pleased to be able to display this fire truck which was specially designed to honor FC Dallas,” said Frisco Fire Department Fire Chief Mike Piland.
Engine 4 displays the FC Dallas shield on the passenger and driver’s side of the vehicle. “FC Dallas” is featured with the club’s traditional blue and red striping along the storage compartments. The rear of the truck also showcases the FC Dallas shield.
“This is one of the greatest cities in America,” said FC Dallas President Dan Hunt. “This city is special like no other city. This is a huge honor.”
Members of the FC Dallas front office, Frisco City Council and Frisco Fire Department christened the new engine with a wet down ceremony which dates back to the 1800’s. Water from the engine being put into reserve was sprayed onto the new truck, ceremoniously passing the torch from the retiring truck to Fire Engine 4. Guests then had the opportunity to wipe down the truck to dry it off with commemorative Push In Ceremony towels before physically pushing Engine 4 into its bay into the station.
Fire Engine 4 will call Frisco Fire Station #4 its home, located at 4485 Cotton Gin Road in Frisco.
