FRISCO, Texas (Sept. 17, 2026) – Wingback Bernard Kamungo has been called up to Tanzania’s men’s national team for AFCON qualifying matches against Guinea-Bisau on Friday, Sept. 25, and against Madagascar on Tuesday, Sept. 29, with both matches kicking off at 8 a.m. CT. Tanzania will conclude the FIFA International window with a friendly against Ghana on Oct. 6. Kamungo received his first Tanzania call-up on June 12, 2023.Â
Kamungo has played 1,230 minutes in 16 appearances for FC Dallas this season. The Tanzanian set a new season high in assists with four. The 24-year-old signed a contract extension on Jan. 7, 2025 through the 2027 season with club options for 2028 and 2029. FC Dallas holds a 8-1-4 record when Kamungo starts.Â
The Kasulu, Tanzania native, has made 90 appearances, registering eight goals and eight assists in 4,636 minutes played since joining FC Dallas in 2022.
