FRISCO, Texas (Dec. 17,2020) – FC Dallas has traded winger Fafa Picault to Houston Dynamo FC in exchange for $200,000 in 2021 General Allocation Money (GAM) and $75,000 in GAM for 2022, the club announced today.
FC Dallas could receive an additional $50,000 in GAM if Picault meets certain performance metrics while with the Dynamo.
Picault, 29, scored three goals and recorded two assists in 20 overall appearances for FC Dallas this season. Prior to joining FC Dallas, he spent three seasons with the Philadelphia Union, where he scored 21 goals and recorded 12 assists in 89 regular season appearances.
Picault started his professional soccer career with NASL team Tampa Bay Rowdies in 2012 after playing youth soccer with Cagliari in Italy from 2006 to 2011. He also spent time with 2. Bundesliga team St. Pauli, Czech first-division team AC Sparta Prague and the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.
Born to Haitian immigrants, Picault earned a call up to the Haiti National Team in 2014 but did not appear in any matches. Picault has two appearances for the United States Men’s National Team, making his international debut against Puerto Rico on May 22, 2016, playing the final 19 minutes. He last appeared in an international friendly against Colombia on Oct. 11, 2018.
