The Lamar Hunt US Open Cup is, without a doubt, one of the most exciting weeks of the MLS season and this year's third round was no exception.
With all 17 American MLS teams entering the fray against non-MLS sides, some wild matchups were paired together including cross-country travel, amatuer sides taking on MLS and everything else you get with the oldest soccer competition in the country.
While the lower-league heroics of last season that saw eight MLS teams knocked out at the first hurdle weren't quite repeated, there were plenty of giant killings.
Western Conference Recap
The Western Conference is where we saw the most craziness this week with half of the eight MLS teams crashing out of the tournament.
FC Dallas 2 Fort Lauderdale Strikers 0
After a closely-fought first half, FC Dallas dispatched of the Strikers with second-half goals from Blas Perez and Matt Hedges to advance to the fourth round for the first time since 2011.

Carolina Railhawks 2 Los Angeles Galaxy 0
With a relatively backup squad and Head Coach Bruce Arena back in Los Angeles, the Galaxy lost at the NASL's Carolina Railhawks for the second year in a row. Austin da Luz put Carolina ahead in the 59th minute before Brian Shriver quickly doubled the lead in the 61st minute to send the Railhawks into the fourth round.
Chivas USA 2 Los Angeles Blues 1
Goalkeeper Dan Kennedy was the hero for Chivas USA scoring a 62nd-minute penalty kick and making a number of saves late in the game to sent Chivas USA into the fourth round for the second-straight year.
Orlando City 3 Colorado Rapids 1
USLPRO's Orlando City is through to the fourth round for the first time in team history beating Colorado 3-1 behind two goals from Sporting KC-loanee Dom Dwyer.

Charleston Battery 1 San Jose Earthquakes 0
Another MLS side went down as San Jose continued their early-season struggles with a 1-0 loss to USLPRO's Charleston Battery.
Tampa Bay Rowdies 1 Seattle Sounders FC 0
The biggest upset of the third round came in south Florida where Seattle, finalists in the last four seasons, fell to the NASL's Tampa Bay Rowdies 1-0 via a Georgi Hristov 75th-minute game-winner. Obafemi Martins had a PK saved late in the wild match.
Portland Timbers 5 Wilmington Hammerheads 0
The Timbers cruised to victory with Frederic Piquionne striking four times in the huge victory for the Cascadia side.
Real Salt Lake 3 Atlanta Silverbacks 2
RSL survived a stiff test from the NASL side, needing extra time before goals from Devon Sandoval and Khari Stephenson sealed the win.

Eastern Conference Recap
Every Eastern Conference team advanced past the third round this week, going seven for seven in matches against lower-league sides.
Sporting KC 2 Des Moines Menace 0
Goals from Kei Kamara and Claudio Bieler sent a strong SKC side through as they look to defend their USOC title.
New England Revolution 5 Rochester Rhinos 1
Jay Heaps' Revolution side had no trouble with the USLPRO's Rochester Rhinos with two goals from Kelyn Rowe.
DC United 0(4) Richmond Kickers 0(2)
DC United advanced to the fourth round defeating the Richmond Kickers 4-2 on penalty kicks. DC United was down to nine men by the end of the game with Carlos Ruiz and Chris Korb, but survived to win on PK's.
Philadelphia Union 2 Ocean City 1
A second-half stoppage time goal from Brian Carroll won the game for Philadelphia who starting a nearly starting lineup-strength team.
Chicago Fire 2 Charlotte Eagles 0
Newly-signed Mike Magee scored his first Fire goal and Chris Rolfe sealed the win for Chicago who next host Columbus in the fourth round.
New York Red Bulls 2 Reading United AC 0
Fabian Espindola and Lloyd Sam scored second-half goals to send the Red Bulls through to the fourth round over the PDL side.
Houston Dynamo 2 FC Tucson 0
The Dynamo sealed a fourth round meeting with FC Dallas by dropping the PDL Tuscon side 2-0. Alex Dixon scored in the first half and Giles Barnes finally put away the plucky Arizona side in the 85th minute.
Columbus Crew 2 Dayton Dutch Lions 1
Columbus struggled with the USLPRO side needing an 84th-minute goal from Justin Meram to finally see off the visitors. They'll travel to Chicago for a fourth-round match against the Fire.
