BOUNCE BACK

  • FC Dallas welcomes the Seattle Sounders to Toyota Stadium looking to bounce back from its first home defeat in over a year. Prior to Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Sporting KC, Dallas had earned 10 points over four games with one of the points coming from FCD's 1-1 draw with the Sounders at Lumen Field just two weeks ago. Dallas played well for the most part against SKC, outshooting them 16 to 11 and striking the post on four different occasions. Although it wasn't enough, Dallas can take confidence in the weekend's performance and carry some of it into the Seattle matchup.

Head Coach Luchi Gonzalez: “We don’t like the feeling we got last game at home, dropping those points against Kansas City. We almost got the tying goal, if we had gotten it I think there would’ve been a momentum shift to push to win. But it didn’t bounce our way and we’re not happy about that. We need to show that chip on our shoulder tomorrow.”

SLOWING SEATTLE

  • Seattle is the second-highest scoring team in the Western Conference and is coming off a 6-2 away win over the Portland Timbers Sunday night. In the two games since FCD's 1-1 draw at Lumen Field, the Sounders have scored a combined nine goals and conceded just two. Seattle forward Raul Ruidiaz also leads the MLS Golden Boot race with 13 goals from 19 games and Dallas' backline will be tasked with keeping the Peruvian off the scoresheet once again.

Defender Ryan Hollingshead: "Their attack is solid, they’ve got a lot good goal scorers. Them having (Nico) Lodeiro back is big for them, he’s obviously been one the best 10s in the league for a long time. They’ve got a lot of pieces but we like our defense, our squad, and the way we play team football—all 11 guys playing. It’s going to be a good game and we’ll be ready to impose our style."

STRONG SEND OFF

  • Wednesday's game at Toyota Stadium is FCD's last home match before a three-game road run. It's also the last home stand before Dallas plays six of its next seven away. Getting three points against one of the league's top teams would be the perfect send off before the next few weeks of travel.

Defender Nkosi Tafari: “After dropping points last game at home, we definitely want to pick up three that we kind of already gave up. And certainly against a team like Seattle it would be good to start an away run with three points."
