North Texas SC Signs University of North Carolina and FC Dallas Academy Product Mark Salas

Frisco, Texas (July 9, 2021) - North Texas SC has signed defender Mark Salas, pending league and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.

Salas joins the club on a contract for the remainder of the 2021 season.

Salas, 21, appeared in 62 matches for the University of North Carolina backline. He helped anchor one of the best defenses in the country during his sophomore year, only allowing 10 goals all season. Salas joined the FC Dallas Academy when he was six years old and captained the FC Dallas U-16 Academy Team that won the U.S. Soccer Development Academy U-15/16 National Championship in 2016. He was also part of the team that won the 2015 USSDA U-15/16 Championship. Salas graduated from Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas. He was selected by FC Dallas in the third round (76th overall) of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft
