Game Summary


First Half:


  • 12’ – Christian Pavón clipped the ball over Reto Ziegler to get in on goal, but Matt Hedges got across to make a fantastic covering tackle.
  • 14’ – A corner was swung into the box by Michael Barrios and the ball fell to the feet of Santiago Mosquera who hammered the ball off the underside of the bar.
  • 32’ – A clever ball by Jesús Ferreira played in Barrios, but Sebastian Lletget raced across and was able to make the block.
  • 40’ – Pavón played Zlatan Ibrahimovic into the box, who twisted and turned but couldn’t escape the attentions of Ziegler who deflected the Swedish striker’s shot wide.


Second Half:


  • 46’ – Barrios latched onto an incisive through-ball from Paxton Pomykal but his shot from a tight angle went just wide.
  • 50 – Mosquera found space on the left side of the box and his cross was cleverly dummied by Barrios but Ferreira pulled the ensuing shot wide.
  • 68’ – Jorgen Skjelvik played a give and go with Pavón whose pullback found Ibrahimovic wide open from 12 yards who finished calmly into the bottom corner. 
  • 82’ – Pavon ran onto a through ball and was cut down by Cannon for an LA Galaxy penalty, which was comfortably dispatched by Ibrahimovic.
