2021 Season

LINEUP NOTES, pres. by UnitedHealthcare: FC Dallas vs. Houston Dynamo FC | 9.18.21

2021 Lineup Notes

FRISCO, Texas - Head coach Luchi Gonzalez makes one change to his lineup as FC Dallas takes on Houston Dynamo in the third and final Texas Derby of the season tonight, Sept. 18 at 8:30PM. Here's the lineup notes, presented by UnitedHealthcare.

Bressan is Back
Bressan returns to the matchday squad for the first time since suffering a shoulder injury in the last Texas Derby in Houston on Aug. 21. Although he's healthy enough for the bench, Nkosi Tafari and Matt Hedges is the preferred center back partnership tonight. If Bressan features as a sub, it'll be his 20 appearance overall this season.

Fullbacks
Ema Twumasi and Justin Che get their third-consecutive appearance at left back and right back respectively. FCD's usual left back starter Ryan Hollingshead is still unavailable with a foot injury. Twumasi has proved a reliable defender and shines when playing out the opposition's press. On the other side, Che has improved his delivery and is showing that he can be an asset in the attacking third.

Zobeck
Goalkeeper Kyle Zobeck returns to the bench in place of Jimmy Maurer who's unavailable with a short-term injury. Zobeck hasn't featured since last season but is a reliable shot-stopper and excellent at commanding his box and organizing the backline. While it's unlikely he'll feature, Zobeck is a safe pair of hands if starter Phelipe should need to leave the game.
