Well Rested

Of the Starting XI tonight, seven players have had a normal match week, training in Frisco while the club played their first Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match Wednesday. Matt Hedges and Reggie Cannon are the only two starters from that match to hold over into tonight’s XI, while Kellyn Acosta and Michael Barrios saw time in the second half and will start tonight.

Diaz and Barrios on the Flanks

Mauro Diaz, who started last week in the midfield before swapping with Roland Lamah to take on the left attacker role, will start there today with Lamah just behind him. Michael Barrios, who assisted on the game-winner Wednesday just 10 seconds after subbing on at half, will make his third MLS start in the last four games after starting just once in the previous four.

Pomykal on the Bench

After returning to the lineup on Wednesday, Paxton Pomykal makes his first MLS roster since March 18. The Homegrown came off at halftime with a minor knock and has fresher legs than other starters in the match who are on tonight’s sub list: Tesho Akindele, Maynor Figueroa, Jacori Hayes and Victor Ulloa. Cristian Colman, who came out with an injury on Wednesday is not available tonight and is expected to miss a couple weeks’ time recovering from a minor leg injury.
