FC Dallas earns 100th road win in club history following 3-2 victory over LA Galaxy

FC Dallas’ win over LA Galaxy on Wednesday night was more special than usual. The 3-2 victory over the Californian side marked the 100th all-time road win in club history.

Dallas had 97 road wins coming into the season, and after beating the likes of the New England Revolution, Toronto FC and now LA Galaxy, the club was able to reach the mark after just five total road games to start the 2018 campaign.

“We were talking about that before the game,” head coach Oscar Pareja said following the 3-2 win. â€śThat is a great number, so congratulations to club, congratulations to our fans and I hope they enjoyed this victory. That is very sweet against a good side and a great effort from the players. To have this is great.”

The victory at the StubHub Center also elevated Dallas to second place in the Western Conference standings. The club now trails Sporting Kansas City by just two points with a game in hand. Dallas entered Wednesday night tied for third with the Portland Timbers, but last night’s win propelled the club up to second place, passing both Portland and Los Angeles FC.

To cap it off, Dallas now stands tied for second in Major League Soccer in points per game. The club is currently tied at 1.92 PPG with Sporting and trails Atlanta United FC, which leads the league at 2.0 PPG.

“To be honest, we have been cruising in the last month since the league has started,” Pareja said. “I’d rather just let these guys grind and work and earn this stuff. Just putting ourselves in any ranking just makes us better. It’s a long journey, and what we’re going to do is just keep working. We have to get better and every day we will work.”
