UPDATE: Ema Twumasi joined preseason training on Jan. 23
FRISCO - It's officially preseason in Texas.
There are 32 players on FC Dallas' initial camp roster as Luchi Gonzalez begins his inaugural preseason as head coach. Of those, 27 are signed to MLS contracts, including 2019 SuperDraft pick John Nelson, who was automatically added as a Generation adidas player. Five players are in camp not on MLS deals: goalkeeper Carlos Avilez, Academy midfielder Edwin Cerrillo and SuperDraft picks Callum Montgomery, Sam Ebstein and Eduvie Ikoba.
Five players will join FCD preseason late for various reasons, including Homegrown Reggie Cannon who is on international duty with the U.S. Men's National Team.
