FC Dallas Academy Update: 2012-2013 Season Wrap

FRISCO, Texas - While the season ended a few weeks earlier than they would've liked, the 2012-2013 US Soccer Development Academy campaign was certainly a successful one for FC Dallas as both the Under-18 and Under-16 teams won their division in the same season for the first time since 2010. 


FC Dallas U-18s

The Under-18s finished the 12-13 campaign with an 18-6-6 record in 30 games played including a 16-4-4 record within their division. Three players, Kellyn Acosta, Kris Reaves and Bobby Edet, earned all-Central Conference Starting XI honors while ten out of 14 graduating players will be playing soccer in college. 


2013 Graduates: Marco Carrizales(SMU), Alejandro Dominguez(Liberty), Bobby Edet(Furman), Juan Herrera(West Texas), Fernando Laverde(University of Central Florida), Carlos Mitlich(Tyler Community College), Daniel Nevarez, Marco Ortiz(Furman), Victor Portillo(Liberty), Troy Reeves(West Texas), Yomeri Reyes, Erick Sanchez, Sergio Tamayo, Caleb Underwood(SMU).


FC Dallas U-16s

A special group of Under-16s finished as one of the top teams in the US Soccer Development Academy this season. FCD finished with a record of 23-5-2 boasting the third-best offense in the USSDA with 81 goals in 30 games while the defense was among the best in the country as well with 26 goals allowed in 30 games. 


Santiago Agudelo led the way for the FCD U-16s up front this year with 24 goals in 27 games while center backs Vernon "Bubba" Bailey and Jordan Cano started for the Under-18s in all three playoff games. The U-16s will certainly be sending an immensely talented group of young men up to the highest level of the Academy.


FC Dallas U-15s

The Under-15s finished with an astounding 18-1-5 record from 24 games, finishing nine points above the Houston Dynamo for first place in the Texas Pre-Academy League. The U-15s will provide tons of exciting reinforcements for a brand new Under-16 Development Academy team next year.


FC Dallas U-14s

It took them all the way to the final game of the season, but the FCD U-14s finished at the top of the Texas Pre-Academy League with 54 points(16-2-6) from 24 matches. 


FC Dallas U-13s

The FCD U-13s completed the sweep of divisions winning the U-13 Texas Pre-Academy League by three points with a 16-2-6 record, identical to their U-14 counterparts. This U-13 team will be a part of the inaugural U-14 US Soccer Development Academy league to be launched next year.
