FRISCO - North Texas SC defender Callum Montgomery and midfielder Arturo Rodriguez were named to USL League One Team of the Week for their performances in the club's week 17 matchup against South Georgia Tormenta FC on Saturday, July 20.
Montgomery has been a mainstay in the North Texas backline the last few games. The Canadian born center back won 11 of his 13 duels, including seven out of eight duels on the ground. He was also excellent with his distribution from the back, connecting on 91% of his passes, and was able to kickstart many attacks with an 84% pass accuracy when passing in the opponent’s half. This is the second consecutive team of the week selection for Montgomery, and his third overall.
Rodriguez has been one of the stars for North Texas SC this year, and this selection marks his fifth selection to team of the week. Playing in the center of the park, Rodriguez created two chances with his excellent passing, which was accurate 95% of the time. He was able to contribute on defense as well, winning eight duels and making three tackles.
