Professional
2011: Hartman tied with Real Salt Lake’s Nick Rimando for the league lead with 13 shutouts, including his 100th career shutout against New England Revolution on June 4. The veteran also led the league in wins with a record of 15-11-7 during the regular season. He was named MLS’s Player of the Month for July after recording four shutouts in six matches. He earned his 12th clean sheet of the season against Chivas USA on July 31 to eclipse the FC Dallas club record of 11 shutouts in a season held previously by Matt Jordan in 1999. Hartman also recorded a shutout in a quarterfinal Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against Real Salt Lake on July 12. In CONCACAF Champions League play, Hartman became the first goalkeeper to record a shutout in each of his first four matches. Since joining FC Dallas Hartman boosted his MLS all-time records in several categories including: 386 games played 1,376 saves, 171 wins and 106 shutouts. He also increased his all-time MLS postseason records for games played (49), minutes played (4,522) and saves (175). 2010: Hartman shattered the MLS single-season goals against average (0.62) previously held by Pat Onstad (0.82 in 2007). He was named MLS Player of the Month in August. “El Gato” picked up the fourth Western Conference Championship of his career by posting a 0.875 goals against average in four postseason matches. 2009: Hartman continued his streak for the third season in a row, logging 2,700 minutes in 30 games played with the Kansas City Wizards. He finished the season with a 1.40 goals against average, 105 saves and seven shutouts. Hartman broke the all-time MLS saves record of 1,136 on March 28, 2009. 2008: For the second consecutive season, played every minute of the regular season. He recorded third-most saves in MLS and tied for the league-lead in shutouts with 10. Hartman finished the season as the MLS career leader in all-time wins for a goalkeeper with 138. He was named the Wizards’ 2008 Humanitarian Award winner for charity work, including Nothing But Nets, an organization that helps prevent malaria in Africa. 2007: Hartman was named to MLS All-Star team and played every minute of the Wizards season. He broke a tie with Tony Meola for MLS all-time shutouts record. 2006: Hartman ended the season with a 1.14 goals against average (4th in MLS for the 2006 season). He recorded nine shutouts, the third-most of any season in his career. 2005: Hartman enjoyed a stellar playoff run, allowing just two goals in four games to lead the Galaxy to the 2005 MLS Cup title. He recorded 18 saves in the postseason to win his third Western Conference Championship. Hartman also won his second U.S. Open Cup Championship. 2004: Hartman started all 30 of the Galaxy’s games and was named the club’s MVP for the second consecutive season. 2003: Hartman played all but 16 minutes of the season. He set the Galaxy’s single-game record for saves, making 12 stops on Aug. 20 at Chicago. 2002: Hartman started 18 games, posting an 11-6-1 record. He won his second Supporters Shield, second Western Conference Championship and first of two career MLS Cups by posting a 5-1-0 record with 20 saves, three shutouts and a 1.30 GAA in playoffs. 2001: Hartman finished the season with a 6-4-1 record, making 11 appearances, all starts. He helped lead the Galaxy to its’ first-ever U.S. Open Cup final by registering four consecutive wins. 2000: Hartman became the first goalkeeper in MLS history to record back-to-back seasons with a goals against average of less than 1.00. 1999: Hartman was named MLS’ Pepsi Goalkeeper of the Year and voted to MLS’ AT&T Best XI. He became first goalkeeper in MLS history to record back-to-back 20 win seasons between the pipes. He won his first of four Western Conference Championships with the Galaxy. 1998: Hartman led the league with a then record 22 games won. He helped the Galaxy win the 1998 Supporters Shield with a record of 22-7-0. 1997: Hartman was drafted in third round (29th overall) of the 2007 College Draft. He earned his first career shutout in his MLS debut, a 1-0 Galaxy win against Columbus.
International
Hartman made his first appearance for U.S. National Team against Jamaica in a 2-2 tie on Sept. 8, 2000. He allowed one goal in 45 minutes. He was called into U.S. National Team camp in January 2006 and made first career start for the U.S. in a 5-0 drubbing of Norway. Hartman currently has five career Caps with the U.S. National Team.

Played college soccer at both UCLA (1992-1993) and California State Dominguez Hills (1995- 1996).
Personal
He and wife Jennifer, an Emmy-winning graphic designer, had daughter Chloe on November 11, 2006. Wrote a children’s book entitled Boots Saves the Day. Enjoys reading and doing charity work in free time... played for San Pedro FC Santos, coached by Joe Flanagan in San Pedro, California.
