2020: Maurer started and appeared in 16 MLS regular season appearances and recorded seven shutouts. Ended the year with a 0.81 GAA and 79.4 % in saves, first among starting goalkeepers. On August 16 vs. Nashville SC, Maurer recorded seven saves to earn his fifth shutout of the year. Recorded five saves in the 2-1 win vs. Inter Miami CF on October 28. Made his MLS Cup Playoffs debut on November 22 vs. Portland Timbers. Professional

2013-2017: Spent last five seasons with the NASL’s New York Cosmos. He became the club’s full-time starter in 2014, earning NASL Best XI honors that season before helping New York to the NASL title in 2015 and 2016. He started 25 games for the Cosmos in 2017, finishing the season with a 9-5-11 record and a 1.48 goals-against average.

2012: Spent one season with Chilean first division team Universidad de Concepción.

College

Maurer was a four-year starter for the University of South Carolina, starting all 78 games for the Gamecocks.
