Kellyn Acosta Nearing 2018 Debut
Kellyn Acosta is getting close to his return to action, and caught up with MLSSoccer.com after Sunday's match to talk about his return for both club and country.
“My main goal is focusing on being [FC Dallas] here and if I do well here I’ll have an opportunity to be with the national team,” Acosta said to MLS’ Dylan Butler. Acosta hasn’t played in a game since October 22, 2017 and is eager to get back on the field.
Acosta made the decision after years of dealing with groin strains to finally undergo sports hernia surgery to avoid any further damage.
“That decision didn’t come without ramifications. It meant missing the first two months of the season, including important Concacaf Champions League fixtures and the first six matches of the regular season.” Butler asserts
“There’s bright points, but obviously there’s also a little bit darker. Mentally, it made me a little stronger, physically I’m getting back to it and I’ll be stronger than ever. That’s my main goal.” Acosta told Butler. he hopes to take his place back on the field with the team as soon as he can.

A Look Back on Roland Lamah’s Career
Roland Lamah has had a long and adventurous career in soccer so far, he’s played in the Hungarian League, European League, and now playing in the MLS. He appreciates his time in each country and looks back at each team as a different learning experience that has helped him become the player that he is now.
In 2017 Lamah signed with FC Dallas something he had been looking forward to doing in his career, “I am very happy here at FC Dallas. I always wanted to play in MLS, and when I was offered a contract by FC Dallas I did not hesitate in signing it.” Lamah told James Rowe from World Football Index (WFI)
Looking back at his time playing in the Hungarian League Lamah really treasured his time there even if he was skeptical at first, he told Rowe of WFI “In my life and in my career, I like to win, and I try to win something at every club I go to. When I received a call from Ferencvaros manager Thomas Doll about the possibility go to Hungary I was unsure at first, but it was a very successful time where we won a lot of trophies.”

Jacori Hayes sits down for a podcast interview
Jacori Hayes has had tremendous success early in this MLS season, starting in all seven games with 571 minutes, a goal, and an assist so far. He joined The Scuffed Soccer Podcast last week to talk about his breakout start.
All of these accomplishments wouldn’t have come without hard work and dedication, Hayes mentioned in his The Scuffed Soccer Podcast interview last week.
“From ages 9 to 11, I was on a travel team, and then around when I was 12 years old there was another team that I wanted to play for that the serious ballers were on in the area, my skills weren’t there yet to be on that team, but I tried out and was able to make it.”
Hayes credits the support of his family as one of the reasons he’s been successful in his career.
“That pushed me to the next level, that’s when I started taking it more seriously practices were an hour away, and that really took a lot of commitment from my family, so that’s when I really started taking soccer seriously.”
