FRISCO, Texas (April 10, 2011) – FC Dallas (1-2-1) secured its first victory of the 2011 season, a 3-0 win over the defending MLS Cup Champion Colorado Rapids (3-1-0) Saturday night at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas. The defending Western Conference Champions now head to the Pacific Northwest to battle MLS expansion side the Portland Timbers (0-2-1) on Sunday night. That match is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. CT at Portland’s JELD-WEN Field and will be televised regionally on FOX Sports Southwest.
The FC Dallas first team underwent a recovery day on Saturday prior to the Reserves’ 1-0 victory against the Colorado Rapids Reserves. The team was off Sunday and will be again on Monday, April 11 before returning to the adidas field at Pizza Hut Park on Tuesday, April 12 at 10 a.m. The team will also train at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13 and Thursday, April 14 before traveling to Portland on Friday, April 15. The team will train in Portland on Saturday, April 16 before taking on the Timbers Sunday, April 17 at 5 p.m. CT.
