FC Dallas saw its’ five-game unbeaten streak come to an end Sunday afternoon following a 2-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City and Children’s Mercy Park. An unfortunate afternoon saw Oscar Pareja’s men fall for the first time in the month of June. Here’s an update on what effect that result had on FC Dallas’ spot in the power rankings.

Dallas were pretty clearly robbed of a goal, and then had a questionable offside call nullify another good look. And then... they fell apart. It happens, of course, but we expected more maturity from a team that's pushing for a Shield.

Stunned by two goals late in the first half after playing a solid half-hour, FCD lost for the first time in the last six games. Mauro Diaz’s entry after halftime produced mild improvement in the attack but still FCD failed to score in a road game for the sixth time this season. It has won each of the three road games in which it has scored.
