The world was captivated by Iceland's dramatic quarterfinal run in Euro 2016 and perhaps the most indelible image was the "viking chant" held after every match.
After the Euros, the incredibly addicting chant made its way to Toyota Stadium. Slowly momentum was gained, until the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Final where the entire sold out Toyota Stadium joined in late in the match and then, in one of the coolest moments in stadium history, Maxi Urruti led the Budweiser Beer Garden in the chant after lifting the trophy.
"It was just such an exciting moment. I saw everyone celebrating and wanted to do something with the fans," said Urruti. "They asked me to hop on the drum and I said 'hell yeah I’ll do it.' I’d love to do it again."

Fan participation has been better than ever at Toyota Stadium in 2016 with "Deep in the Heart of Texas" billowing out before matches and the players hope the "Viking Chant" becomes a post-game win celebration after every match.
"Getting the fans involved in any way is huge," said Ryan Hollingshead. "We don’t necessarily have any huge fan traditions other than the Deep in the Heart of Texas song that have really caught on so I feel like if the fans get behind it, we should go for it."
With huge games remaining for the rest of the season, the tradition will hopefully grow as FC Dallas racks up more "W"s as they search for the first-ever American soccer treble.
"A lot of times when something’s trending people do it and sometimes it sticks sometimes it doesn’t," said Victor Ulloa." I think this is something our fans have embraced and it’s something cool to see. Maxi was hitting the drum and everyone was doing, that was cool to see. I'm down to hop on the drum any time."
