U.S. vs Panama friendly will have Dallas flavor

US-Panama

Wednesday night’s US/Panama international friendly will have the feel of a FC Dallas intra-squad scrimmage.

Four FCD players, two on each team, are on the rosters for tonight’s game in Panama City (7:30 pm CT, ESPN3.com/Galavisión).

Brek Shea and Zach Loyd are on the U.S. Men’s National Team and new acquisitions Blas Pérez and Carlos Rodríguez are on the Panama roster.

“I think it means we have the right players,” head coach Schellas Hyndman said. “We’re glad we have them.”

FC Dallas will have the highest MLS representation for Wednesday’s game.

Tonight will be the second game in five days for the U.S. team.

Shea played the entire game on Saturday when the U.S. faced Venezuela.

Shea is also the only player who has played in all eight games with Jurgen Klinsmann as USMNT coach.

Loyd was subbed in at the 74th minute for the U.S.

Hyndman said he thought Shea and Loyd played well together in the game’s final minutes.

“They both made some great moves,” Hyndman said.

Hyndman praised Shea’s play during the game, calling it “lively.”

Loyd looked like one of the most fit players on the field according to Hyndman.

“He put in two quality services which could have led to goals,” Hyndman said about Loyd.

But such heavy involvement from FC Dallas players in international play means Hyndman is planning ahead for potential call-ups for Olympic play this summer.

“We need depth. They could all be gone,” Hyndman said. “It will be an interesting year.”
