U-17 and U-15 Academy Teams Clinch Playoff Spots in Girls’ Development Academy Playoffs

In the inaugural season of the Girls’ Development Academy, FC Dallas has already had two of their team’s clinch spots in the playoffs.


The U-17 and U-15 teams have been near the top of the standings for most of the year and have beaten some of the top teams across the country in national events.


The U-17s are in first place in their conference, with a record of 21-2-5. They are tied for ninth out of 69 teams in goal differential and tied for seventh in goals against. Sydney Richards and Diana Ordoñez lead the team in goals with 19 each. Ordoñez leads the league in goals per match, netting 1.6 goals per game.


They are currently the fourth seed for the playoffs.


They clinched a spot to the playoffs after two wins, a 2-0 victory over the Dallas Texans and a 5-1 win over the Houston Dash. The playoffs start June 24 in San Diego, California.


The U-15 squad clinched their spot in the playoffs with a 1-1 tie vs. Lonestar SC Academy.


They are in first in their division with a 20-2-6 record. They were just 10-6-5 last year. They rank 8th out of 69 teams in goals against and ninth in goal differential.


They are currently the third seed in the playoffs.


Morganne Eikelbarner leads the team in goals with 26, and is fourth in the league in that area.


The U-15 playoffs will begin on June 23.
