FRISCO, Texas – The U.S. Men’s National Team will visit the home pitch of FC Dallas for the first time since 2007 as Toyota Stadium was named one of 13 host sites for this summer’s 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The region’s marquee tournament will be played throughout the U.S. from July 7-26. Toyota Stadium will host the U.S. Men’s National Team on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. The match will be part of a Group A doubleheader that features four of the top national teams in CONCACAF. The complete groups and schedule, including selection of dates and matches for the knockout round and the awarding of the Final, will be announced in 2015.
"We are thrilled to play our opening game of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in Frisco," said U.S. Men's National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann. “Winning the tournament is the number one priority for the senior National Team in 2015, so it's important that we get started on the right foot. It's a great stadium and there's a tremendous tradition for soccer in the area, so we're hoping to get huge support from all our fans."

Taking place every two years, the Gold Cup is the official national team championship of the region, routinely drawing capacity crowds and millions of viewers across the region. Featuring the best players from the confederation, the tournament includes the region’s current top 12 national teams. Adding prestige to the tournament, the champion of the 2015 tournament will play the champion of the 2013 Gold Cup (United States) in a playoff for a berth in the 2017 Confederations Cup, a prelude to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. If the U.S. wins the 2015 tournament, the team automatically qualifies for the 2017 Confederations Cup.
