Tesho Akindele & Zach Loyd named as finalists for 2014 MLS year-end awards

FRISCO - Major League Soccer announced their 2014 MLS Year-End Awards finalists today and two FC Dallas players are nominated. Rookie Tesho Akindele, who finished the 2014 season tied for the rookie lead in goals with seven and started all three 2014 MLS Cup Playoff games scoring one goal, is a finalist for AT&T Rookie of the Year along with Steve Birnbaum of D.C. United and Harrison Shipp of Chicago.


Additionally, FC Dallas defender Zach Loyd is a finalist for MLS WORKS Humanitarian of the Year along with Diego Chara of DC United and AJ DeLaGarza of Los Angeles. Loyd takes annual off-season mission trips and, with his wife Casey, coaches a soccer team of refugees named Vickery United.
