Tesho Akindele and Maynor Figueroa Called in to National Team Camps

Jesse Gonzalez, Kellyn Acosta and Matt Hedges named to U.S. National Team Preliminary Roster for 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup

FRISCO â€“ Tesho Akindele (Canada) and Maynor Figueroa (Honduras) have been called in by their respective national teams for the current FIFA International Date running through Tuesday, June 13.


FC Dallas players have now earned 15 MoneyGram international call-ups so far this season.


Kellyn Acosta and Matt Hedges joined the U.S. National Team last week. Both players subbed on in the second half of the U.S. National Team’s 1-1 draw in a friendly against Venezuela on Saturday, June 3. The U.S. hosts Trinidad & Tobago in an important FIFA World Cup Qualifying match this Thursday, June 8, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.


Also on June 3, U.S. head coach Bruce Arena submitted the 40-player preliminary roster for this summer’s 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Arena’s roster included Acosta, Hedges and FC Dallas Homegrown goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez.


The U.S. will begin Gold Cup training camp on Sunday, June 25, in Nashville, Tenn., before traveling to East Hartford, Conn., for a warm-up game against Ghana on July 1 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium. The MNT returns to Nashville for its tournament opener against Panama on Saturday, July 8, at Nissan Stadium, before venturing to Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium for a Wednesday, July 12 clash with Martinique. The USA closes group play on Saturday, July 15, against Nicaragua at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio.
