Szabolcs Schön Called into National Team Duty

FC Dallas players have earned nine UnitedHealthcare International Call-ups this year

FRISCO, Texas (April 7, 2021) – FC Dallas winger Szabolcs Schön has been called up to represent the Hungarian National Team by head coach Marco Rossi in the upcoming training camp that will take place in preparation of the 2020 UEFA European Championship running from June 11-July 11. 


The Hungarian National Team will train in Austria and will have two international friendly matches against Cyprus (June 4) and Ireland (June 8). Following the friendlies, Rossi will select his 26-man roster that will play in the 16th edition of the tournament.


Schön, 20, was recently signed to a three-year contract with FC Dallas with club options for the 2024 and 2025 season. He joins FC Dallas after spending the past couple seasons with Hungarian first-division MTK Budapest. He scored 16 goals and recorded 10 assists in 61 appearances across all competitions.


Schön has been called up to represent the Hungarian National Team at various youth levels since 2014.


Hungary was drawn to Group F along with Portugal, France and Germany. Hungary will host Portugal on June 15 and France on June 19 at Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary for the first two group stage matches and faces Germany on June 23 at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany for the final group stage match.
