Seattle and Sporting KC both reached the 40-point mark with wins over the weekend - SKC over Dallas, 2-0, and the Sounders over the lowly Minnesota United FC, 2-1.

Portland leap-frogged FC Dallas with a 2-0 win over the Red Bulls on Friday night to pull them into a 37-point tie with Houston, who fell 2-1 to Vancouver Whitecaps FC. With their win, Vancouver jumped into a playoff position just one point back of Dallas and one point ahead of San Jose, who in-turn fell below the red line with a 2-2 draw against Philadelphia. Both FCD and the Whitecaps have two games in-hand over the Quakes, so some work needs to be done in the Bay Area over the stretch to make up ground.

Real Salt Lake fell 3-1 to Montreal and Colorado scored on themselves to drop a 1-0 result to D.C. United, while the Galaxy enjoyed a weekend off from league action.

It's a busy double-match week that will shake things up over the next week. Dallas, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Real Salt Lake, San Jose and Colorado all have six points on the line during a Heineken Rivalry Week that could have a very different looking Western Conference table come Tuesday.
