STANDINGS: FC Dallas Tied For First in Conference Again after 1-0 Win

FRISCO - FC Dallas moved back up into a tie for first in the Western Conference after a 1-0 win over Minnesota United FC. Minnesota stayed in ninth place with the loss, but there is a five-point gap between them and eighth. FCD will host Atlanta on Wednesday, who is in first place in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta is coming off of a 4-0 win over Orlando City SC on Saturday.


FCD have 32 points in 16 matches this season. Sporting KC also has 32 points, they lost to Montreal Impact FC 2-0 on Saturday. The win was Montreal’s third win in a row.

LAFC defeated the Philadelphia Union 4-1 to remain in third place. Adama Diamonde scored three goals for them. He has now scored seven goals in the team’s last four matches. They currently have 30 points, trailing Dallas and Sporting by two points. They will also soon get leading goal-scorer Carlos Vela back, who is on international duty with Mexico. LAFC will face the seventh place Houston Dynamo on Tuesday.


Real Salt Lake dropped a match to Columbus Crew SC over the weekend. They were facing an uphill battle most of the game, down 2-0 just 23 minutes into the match. RSL will host Sporting on Wednesday. The two faced in the Open Cup less than a month ago, ending in a 2-0 SKC win.


Portland separated themselves from RSL in the standings after a 3-2 road win against Seattle. Larrys Mabiala scored two goals for the Timbers, including the game-winner in the 74th minute. Seattle is now tied for last in the conference after the loss.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC lost at home to the Colorado Rapids 1-0. Vancouver has now dropped two matches in a row and will host the Chicago Fire this week. For Colorado, after recording only eight points in their first thirteen matches, they have picked up seven points in their last three games to move alone into 10th place in the conference.


The LA Galaxy tied San Jose 3-3 on Saturday. Zlatan put LA ahead in the first minute, but Chris Wondolowski tied it up in the 15th minute. LA scored two more goals to go up 3-1, but their defense could not hold on. The Galaxy will now host D.C. United on Wednesday, D.C. has the least ampunt of points in the league.
