STANDINGS: FC Dallas Jumps Two Spots with Win Over New England

Standings Week Seven

FRISCO - We hit Week 8 of the MLS season now and things are starting to take shape in the Western Conference. 


FC Dallas climbed back above the playoff line as midfielder Jacori Hayes pick up his first MLS goal and secured the win. FCD moved up the leaderboard from the No. 7 spot with six points last week to the No. 5 spot with nine points this week.

First-place Sporting Kansas City were able to gain one point in a draw vs. the Seattle Sounders after Graham Zusi’s impressive equalizer in the 78th minute. For Seattle, it was their first point on the year at the bottom of the table.


The LA Galaxy moved up to No. 2 in the after a 1-0 win on the road against the Chicago Fire, while the usual suspects helped LAFC to a 2-0 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC as Carlos Vela and Diego Rossi both scored.

New York City FC hosted Real Salt Lake at Yankee Stadium beat the visitors in a dominating 4-0 victory Wednesday night. 


Minnesota United fell in a 3-2 affair to the Portland Timbers, unable to phase the Oregonians in their 2018 home opener. Like FCD, the Colorado Rapids jumped two spots in the standings after defeating a reserve-heavy Toronto FC on Saturday, 2-0.


Rounding out the rest of the West, the Houston Dynamo and the San Jose Earthquakes drew, 2-2, to keep their respective spots for the third week in a row.
