Copa Tejas
There's always bragging rights on the line when two Texas teams face off but Saturday's game between FC Dallas and Austin FC has even more than that. Copa Tejas – a fan-driven cup competition between all the Texas teams – will be decided by Saturday's outcome. Austin holds pole position to take its first Copa Tejas title after earning seven points against the other Texas teams so far (two wins over Houston Dynamo, one draw against Dallas). FC Dallas is a close second with five points (a win and a draw against Houston and a draw against Austin), meaning Nico Estévez's men will need all three points to hoist Copa Tejas for a second consecutive season.

Mr. 300
Captain Matt Hedges is in line to make his 300th regular season appearance in FC Dallas colors Saturday. The 32-year-old defender is already the club's all-time appearance leader after passing Jason Kreis' record during the 2020 season. Hedges has started 16 of FCD's 20 matches this season and the 2012 SuperDraft pick remains as important as ever on Dallas' backline. Saturday, he'll be tasked with defending against high-flying attack that's scored a league-high 41 goals this season.

Ferreira vs. Driussi
Saturday's game will feature two of the league's best goal scorers. FC Dallas' Jesús Ferreira and Austin's Sebastian Driussi are both tied for second in the MLS Golden Boot race with 11 goals apiece (although two of Driussi's came via the penalty spot). But they're not just pure goal scorers. Ferreira has contributed four assists while Driussi has dished five, putting both players squarely in the league MVP conversation. Saturday's match – and therefore the fate of Copa Tejas – could well be decided by Ferreira or Driussi's goals.
