Review: FC Dallas drafts under Schellas Hyndman

Peri Marosevic

Year: 2009


Position: Forward


Current team: Junak Sinj


After struggling with FC Dallas for two years, Peri Marosevic was signed by Toronto FC in July 2011 after asking for a release from FCD. The University of Michigan product appeared in seven games for Toronto and scored two goals. Marosevic did not re-sign with Toronto in January 2012. Instead, he signed with NK Junak Sinj of the Croatian Second Division.   


George John

Year: 2009


Position: Defender


Current team: FC Dallas


George John was drafted out of Washington by FC Dallas in 2009 and has played for the club for the entirety of his career. In 95 appearances he has started in 90 games and has recorded four goals and one assist. FC Dallas re-signed John to a multi-year deal during the off-season.  


Brian Shriver

Year: 2009


Position: Forward


Current team: Carolina RailHawks


Shriver was drafted in 2009 but was unable to join the team due to injury. The forward from the University of North Carolina spent a month and half with FC Dallas in the summer of 2009 but wound up not signing a contract. Shriver signed with Miami FC (now Fort Lauderdale Strikers), a USL First division club, in August of 2009.  In 49 appearances Shriver scored ten goals for the Strikers. Shriver was traded to the Carolina Rail Hawks on February 17, 2012.


Zach Loyd

Year: 2010


Position: Defender


Current team: FC Dallas


Loyd was drafted by FC Dallas in 2010. During his first season out of North Carolina, he appeared in 24 games and started 19 of them. He has appeared in 86 games total and started in 78 -- scoring three times and recording seven assists.


Andrew Wiedeman

Year: 2010


Position: Forward


Current team: Toronto FC


After an unsuccessful run with FC Dallas, Wiedeman was shipped to Toronto FC in 2012, where he remains on the roster headed into 2013. In 15 appearances the Carolina Product has scored twice for Toronto.  


Jason Yeisley

Year: 2010


Position: Forward


Current team: Richmond Kickers


Yeisley was waived in 2011 after one season with FC Dallas. He then signed with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds where he appeared in 22 games and scored five goals. On December 6, 2011 the former Penn State forward reached a long-term agreement with the Richmond Kickers, where he has appeared in 22 games and scored one goal.


Eric Alexander

Year: 2010


Position: Midfielder


Drafted by: FC Dallas


Current team: Portland Timbers


After a brief stint with FC Dallas, Alexander was traded to Portland in 2011. He appeared in 39 games and started in 28 with 2 goals for FC Dallas. With the Timbers, the Indiana product has started in 17 of his 30 appearances.

Dane Saintus

Current team: Los Angeles Blues


Saintus was drafted in 2010 out of SMU but was cut during training camp. He subsequently signed with the Los Angeles Blues in the USL Professional Division.


Bobby Warshaw

Year: 2011


Position: Midfielder


Drafted by: FC Dallas


Current team: FC Dallas


Bobby Warshaw was selected in the first round in the 2011 draft by FC Dallas. The Stanford product has appeared in 23 games, started in six, and scored twice.


Charlie Campbell

Year: 2011


Position: Defender


Current team: Orlando City


After spending the entire 2011 pre-season with FC Dallas, Campbell was not offered a contract for the 2011 regular season. He signed with Orlando City and appeared in 13 of its final 18 games. Orlando City went on to win the regular season and 2011 USL Pro Championship. In 2012 the Louisville product won Clubman of the year and scored one goal for Orlando City.


Scott Gordon

Current team: Fort Lauderdale Strikers


Scott Gordon was drafted out of Lynn University in the third round by FC Dallas. However he was not offered a contract and made his professional debut with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in 2011. He spent the 2012 preseason with FC Dallas but was unable to earn a contract once again. Instead, he signed with Chivas USA and appeared in three games for Chivas before being waived. In July 2012 Gordon returned to the Strikers.

Was selected 11th overall in 2012 by FC Dallas out of North Carolina.  He started in 23 of his 28 appearances -- scoring three goals.
