RECAP: FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake Play to Scoreless Draw

FC Dallas returns to Toyota Stadium for a two-match homestand

Sandy, Utah (Oct. 24, 2020) – FC Dallas (6-5-7, 25 points) earned an important point on the road in the scoreless draw against Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday night.


Game Summary


  • 18’ – FC Dallas had its first chance of the night but was unable to find the back of the net after Bressan’s right-footed shot hit the crossbar following a cross from Reto Ziegler.  
  • 23’ – Jimmy Maurer makes a diving save on a shot from Corey Baird after a pass from Maikel Chang deflects off Bryan Reynolds leg at the top of the box. 
  • 39’ – Maurer pushes Damir Kreilach’s volley from outside the box out wide for his second save of the night.
  • 40’ – FC Dallas is able to keep it scoreless through the first half after Maurer saves Kreilach’s close range header to deny him in back-to-back minutes.


Second Half:

  • 60’ – Michael Barrios fires a shot from the right side of the box after connecting with a ball from Franco Jara but RSL’s Andrew Putna is alert and makes the save. 
  • 65’ – Ryan Hollingshead receives a short pass from Andrés Ricaurte and fires a volley from outside the box but isn’t able to get it past Nedum Onuoha. 
  • 86’ – Barrios beats RSL’s Danny Toia inside the box and fires a low shot towards the goal but Putna makes his second save of the night.
