FRISCO - Looking to rebound from last week’s disappointing result in Vancouver, FC Dallas hits the road again on Thursday, but the destination is not a common one for the squad.

For the first time since September 2013, FCD will head to the Big Apple taking on the New York Red Bulls, a team that pipped them for the Supporters’ Shield last year on goal difference.

"It’s fun to play against New York because the atmosphere is really good. “I’m looking forward to getting back there,” said defender Zach Loyd. “I think everyone likes this trip as they have a great facility and a great team. We’re looking forward to getting up there and a great game on Friday.”

For one player, it’s a first-ever trip to arguably the most iconic city in the world.

“I’ve never been to New York, it’s a place I’ve always wanted to go so I think it’ll be an awesome experience off the field as much as on the field,” said Tesho Akindele. “After the game, my sister is going to be in town so hopefully I’ll meet up with her and go to the city… I’ve been able to travel to so many
