Oscar Pareja's side got 120 minutes of game action today in Buenos Aires as they sit just over two weeks away from the CCL Quarterfinal against Arabe Unido. He's what Pareja had to say about today's 1-0 defeat to Argentine champions Club Lanus.
General thoughts on the match
It was good. We’re happy with the effort and the exercise. It was very helpful for the coaches to see all the players we brought to the camp. The first team completed 40 minutes today well knowing that we arrived yesterday. It was a good start and a great opportunity to see a new environment.
Thoughts on new signing Hernan Grana playing 40 minutes
He’s a good player. Hernan is a very mature guy who knows the game and has played for many years. He’s going to help us.
Thoughts on new signing Carlos Cermeno
Carlos needed work and we know that he hasn’t trained much for the last two weeks, so we can tell he needs a little bit of time but the quality, we’re very pleased. He’s a very smart player, very technical and he’s going to help us in the middle.
Thoughts on Paxton Pomykal playing with the starters
One of the objectives that we have in this trip is to have the opportunity for the youngsters to accumulate a lot of minutes against teams that are very competitive and players who are almost in a regular season mode. For Paxton and [Jesus] Ferreira, it’s great to see them performing there and getting those minutes, it’s great. They looked good. This is the only way for them to grow to expose them into different environments giving them competition daily that they’re not used to.
