POWER RANKINGS: Week 34 MLS Roundup

FRISCO â€“ The regular season finale is here as FC Dallas will head west to face the Colorado Rapids on Sunday at 3:30PM. Dallas is coming into the match needing a win to guarantee a first-round bye.

Colorado played San Jose to a scoreless draw in its last match. It has recorded four points in its past two matches after a seven-game losing streak.

Heading into the match, here’s where both teams stand in the power rankings.

1. New York Red Bulls (no change)
2. Atlanta United FC (no change)
3. Sporting Kansas City (no change)
4. Seattle Sounders (no change)
5. D.C. United (+2)
7. FC Dallas (-2) -
Perhaps the concern for Dallas is also consistency — a consistent slumping feeling heading into the playoffs. Their recent record isn't terrible (3-2-2) but they seem a step below the contenders right now. Will they roar to life when the playoffs arrive, or remain an enigma?
22. Colorado Rapids (-1) - Two clean sheets in two weeks is good for the Rapids, but it's too little too late at this point. Will they put up a good test at home against FC Dallas? It's a matchup that has been tricky for Dallas in the past.

Oscar Pareja's team had first place in their hands heading into the weekend. But a loss to Sporting Kansas City means they'll need Sporting and LAFC to do less than win -- while FCD wins on the road in Colorado.
22. Colorado Rapids (no change) - It seems fitting that with nothing left to play in 2018, the Rapids played a dour goalless draw against San Jose on Sunday.
