FC Dallas finished a very tough portion of their schedule – eight games in 29 days – with an action-packed 1-1 draw in Colorado on Saturday night. Dallas kept Colorado keeper Tim Howard busy all night, forcing him to make five saves on several shots, but Victor Ulloa finally found the back of the net with a screamer from 30-yards out to give Dallas a well-earned point on the road and secure their first place standing. They’re now 12-6-4 with 41 points, which places them near the top of this week’s power rankings. Read the full rankings below:

“Eight games in 29 days across all competitions is a brutal schedule. Dallas handled it with aplomb, going 6-1-1 and finishing with a precious point at Colorado. Things get much harder, however, if/when Fabian Castillo leaves.”
ESPNFC: 2 (Last week 2)
“It took an 82nd-minute rocket off the foot of normally goal-shy Victor Ulloa to secure a point in Colorado, but any road point is a good one in MLS, and Dallas still top the West.”
SI.com: 3 (Last week 4)
“A point on the road at a tough place to play against one of the league’s elite teams is nothing to sniff at. Ulloa’s goal aside, FC Dallas created several good chances in this game while also remaining disciplined in defense. The reported imminent transfer involving Fabian Castillo might unsettle this team going forward, but its depth is such that even if he leaves it won’t be a death sentence for FCD’s 2016 MLS Cup hopes (though it will hurt quite a bit).”
