Plenty of reason to believe FCD can turn around first leg deficit

Fans comeback

Eight unfortunate minutes on Sunday night saw FC Dallas concede three goals falling to Seattle Sounders FC 3-0 in the opening leg of the Western Conference Semifinal, but if there's any team that knows how to come back in the return leg at Toyota Stadium, it's FC Dallas. The fact is, they've already done it multiple times this season. Maybe those comebacks aren't on the scale of what is needed Sunday night(a 3-0 win would take things to overtime while any other score would need FCD to win by 4), but who is going to count this group out.

Plenty of reason to believe FCD can turn around first leg deficit -

Here are a few big comebacks for FCD this season:

FC Dallas 2, LA Galaxy 1

In the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup semifinals, FCD trailed Los Angeles 1-0 into the 116th minute but Dallas found two goals in six minutes to turn things around at the StubHub Center en route to winning the LHUSOC trophy.

Two goals in six minutes would certainly turn things around quickly at Toyota Stadium on Sunday night.

FC Dallas 2, Seattle Sounders FC 1

A comeback against this very same Sounders FC team? It happened just a couple weeks ago.

Nicolas Lodeiro gave Seattle a 1-0 lead heading into halftime and with tons on the line, FC Dallas fought back. Maxi Urruti scrapped home in the 79th minute to tie the match while ten minutes later, Carlos Ruiz scored a dramatic game-winner in the 89th minute. The win saw FCD take back first place in the Supporters' Shield race, going on to win the trophy on the final day of the regular season.

FC Dallas 3, Houston Dynamo 1

Playing the third match in a week, FC Dallas conceded an early goal at Houston, but battled back. A flurry of three goals in 20 minutes from Mauro Diaz and Michael Barrios saw Dallas turn things around very quickly earning three huge points. Three goals in 20 minutes on Sunday, certainly wouldn't be a bad thing.

FC Dallas 2, Portland Timbers 2

Just last season in the Western Conference Finals, FC Dallas found themselves down 4-1 on aggregate to Portland needing three goals to even the series. In five second half minutes, Ryan Hollingshead and Blas Perez pulled FCD within a goal of equalizing the series with a potential equalizer in the dying minutes barely tipped away by Nat Borchers. Comebacks can happen VERY fast at Toyota Stadium.

And finally, the granddaddy of all the playoff comebacks...

San Jose Earthquakes 4, LA Galaxy 2

Looking for some playoff inspiration? Look no further than one of the greatest comebacks in MLS history. San Jose, down 2-0 after the first leg, conceded 2 more goals early in the second match slumping to a 4-0 deficit. However, they battled back...and well just watch the video. Do you believe? It can be done.
