PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Mauro Diaz Nominated for Best Player of March

FRISCO - FC Dallas has seen success in the start of the 2016 MLS Season, and a part of that has been thanks to FCD's number 10's performances.

Mauro Diaz has been one of the best players in the League in the first 4 matches of the season, with a nomination for the MLS Player of the Month award supporting the playmaker's playing level in 2016's first month of matches. Diaz is leading the MLS with 3 assists and 8 shots outside the box, and is currently tied for first with David Villa with 12 key passes and with FC Dallas team-mate Fabian Castillo with 11 successful dribbles. Added to this, he's been the most fouled player in the League this season, drawing 16 calls against him in the 4 matches he's played in.

The Argentinian joins Philadelphia's Andre Blake, Montreal's Ignacio Piatti, Salt Lake's Joao Plata, and Houston's Will Bruin as the five players nominated by MLSSoccer.com's selections for the award. You can vote for Diaz as 2016's first MLS Player of the Month here
