FRISCO - North Texas SC midfielder Arturo Rodriguez has been voted USL League One Player of the Month for May.
Rodriguez enjoyed a fantastic run of form in North Texas SC's five games during the month of May, registering three assists and scoring two goals to lead the team to the top of the USL League One standings. He also led the league with 15 chances created over the same span. Rodriguez currently is tied for the most assists in the league (4) and has the second most chances created (21) on the season.

USL League One's Player of the Month award is decided by a poll that includes a vote by the USL League One Technical Committee and an online fan vote. Rodriguez won 35% of the fan vote and 100% of the votes from the League One Technical Committee, earning him his first Player of the Month award.
“I think the team is understanding each other well and I think that's why we've had guys do some great things but it's all because of every person on the pitch,” Rodriguez said on winning Player of the Month. “It's all thanks to teamwork. We've meshed well together, and we've stayed winning and that's what has made us look good.”
Rodriguez's head coach, Eric Quill (who also won USL League One's Coach of the Month for May) felt his playmaker was deserving of the recognition.
"I think that's a very fair award for him given the form he's in,” Quill said. “I think he's getting better and better each game. He's now separating himself from the pack, whether that be within our group or the league, as an attacking, special player. My hope is that Arturo keeps along this trajectory because he can have a really nice career and I think he's getting a lot more people talking about him versus maybe what they were talking about three months ago.”
