There was no shortage of FC Dallas news last week, as the club announced a trade, a signing and two players called to the U.S. Men’s National Team. Here are the highlights from the week that was.
Tuesday, August 2: Live chat with Kevin Hartman (Dallas Morning News)
The FC Dallas goalkeeper got the week started off right with a live chat on the Dallas Morning News website. For an hour last Tuesday, Kevin Hartman answered questions from fans that included behind-the-scenes details from the team’s trip to El Salvador; why he takes care with his autograph; and what exactly he’s saying to ball kids during a match.

Wednesday, August 3: Meet FC Dallas’ rising star (Quick DFW)

Brek Shea
was profiled in Quick, DFW’s free weekly entertainment newspaper. The fun question-and-answer session includes Shea’s favorite book, movie and musician; his ultimate guilty pleasure; and much more. The publication also got a great mid-air snapshot of Shea that is a must-see.

Wednesday, August 3: Zach Loyd featured in hometown newspaper (Tulsa World)

Zach Loyd
was the subject of a feature in his hometown paper, the Tulsa World. The feature detailed Loyd’s growth as a player and his second-year success in MLS, but also gave nod to his Tulsa roots – including his first summer job and how the support of his hometown has helped his career.

Thursday, August 4: Schellas Hyndman on World Football Daily
The FC Dallas head coach was a guest on World Football Daily, a podcast that airs Monday-Friday and covers a broad range of topics from around the soccer world. Hyndman discusses FC Dallas’ triumph over Alianza FC to gain entry into the group stage of CONCACAF Champions League.
Budding superstar Brek Shea continued to be a hot topic of media coverage, this time for his call-up to the U.S. Men’s National Team. Goal.com caught up with Shea just after the roster was announced, and he talks about his excitement for the U.S. match with Mexico, as well as how starting the year as a defender helped him learn how to break down opposing defenses.

Friday, August 5: Zach Loyd on World Football Daily
World Football Daily has the first interview with Zach Loyd after the FC Dallas defender was added to the U.S. Men’s National Team roster following an injury to previously selected Timmy Chandler. Loyd talks about learning from fellow national teamers like Landon Donovan and his excitement to join the squad. WFD also spoke with Brek Shea during the same training session.
