Midfielder Brek Shea got the week started off right with this feature from venerable local sports anchor George Riba. Riba’s profile, which aired on Dale Hansen’s Sports Special, focused on Shea’s first career selection to the MLS All-Star game, as well as his artisitic pursuits off the field.

Saturday, July 30: FCD’s Guarda finally gets another shot (Dallas Morning News)
The Dallas Morning News featured FC Dallas again on Saturday with this piece on midfielder and SMU alum Bruno Guarda, who since being acquired in 2008 has experienced many highs and lows with the team. The Brazilian’s playing time had decreased during the 2010 season, but the crowded FCD schedule in 2011 has seen Guarda take on a vital role as a reserve.
