Matt Hedges Picks Up Yellow Card Accumulation Suspension in Draw vs. Seattle Sounders FC

Matt Hedges Picks up Yellow Accumulation

FRISCO - Matt Hedges will miss next week’s away game against Minnesota United for accumulating six yellow cards, as the center back saw yellow in the second half of Saturday’s 0-0 stalemate against the MLS Cup defending champions Seattle Sounders at Toyota Stadium.

The center back halted a Sounders’ breakaway in the 52nd minute as Will Bruin, Seattle’s forward attempted to dribble into the final third and successfully got the ball away, only for referee Hilario Grajeda to issue the defender a yellow card for pulling on the opponent’s jersey.

This will not be the first time in recent weeks that Dallas will have to use a different back line, as the club has seen 22 lineup changes amongst the back four in the last eight games. Coming into Saturday’s match up, FC Dallas used the same backline in back-to-back games for the first time since June.

Hedges had a fine showing in the first half recording twenty-four passes with an accuracy of 91.7 percent, playing a vital role in preventing a thirteen match unbeaten Seattle Sounders to score, as FC Dallas recorded for the first time in five games a clean sheet.
