FRISCO - Looks like Matt Hedges is still earning accolades for his career-best 2016 season. After being named to MLS's Best XI for the 2016 season and Defender of the Year, he'll add one more nomination to the list- ESPY nominee for Best MLS Player. He has some stiff competition in the category, including 2016 MLS MVP David Villa (NYC), Andre Blake (PHI), Stefan Frei (SEA), and Bradley Wright-Phillips (NYRB).
Although he's training with the U.S. Men's National Team in Nashville, Hedges was humbled when he heard the news. "To be included as a finalist for the award with these other great players is really cool and an honor."

The 2017 25th ESPYs, hosted by Peyton Manning, are LIVE on ABC Wednesday, July 12th at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
