Game Summary


First Half:


  • 8’ Jesse Gonzalez got an early save after Sebastián Saucedo connected with Corey Baird and sent a shot from outside the box. 
  • 37’ Michael Barrios chased a ball down and sending a cross from the byline to Dominique Badji, but Badji couldn’t hit the net and sent his header over the bar.
  • 45’+ 2’  Bryan Acosta picked up a loose ball and his shot was straight down the throat of Nick Rimando.
  • 45’ + 4’– Gonzalez denies Marcelo Silva’s powerful header following a corner to keep the game scoreless. 


Second Half:


  • 55’ Matt Hedges tried to clear a curling cross from Damir Kreilach and the subsequent punch out from Jesse Gonzalez fell to Corey Baird, but Gonzalez stayed tall to keep the shot from finding the back of the net
  • 62’ – A clearance attempt by Reto Ziegler fell right into the range of Jefferson Savarino, who wasted no time and hit it on the volley but the shot attempt traveled wide left.
  • 68’ Paxton Pomykal played Mosquera through on goal with a brilliant reverse ball, but the shot went wide.
  • 74’ – Barrios isolated his defender and was brought down, initiating a VAR Review, but it was determined to not be a foul.
