Frisco, TX â€“ FC Dallas midfielder Santiago Mosquera scored the lone goal for FC Dallas in the 3-1 loss against La Liga’s Sevilla FC in the 2019 FC Dallas Summer Classic, presented by Toyota, at Toyota Stadium.

Game Summary


First Half:


  • 13’ â€“ Lucas Ocampos cut inside off the wing and crossed to Luuk De Jong, but Bressan was able to deflect the shot which flew over the crossbar.
  • 22’ â€“ The ball came to Luuk de Jong, who flicked it over his defender with a deft piece of skill and his volley flew into the back of the net.
  • 42’ â€“ Santiago Mosquera cut past his defender with a scissors feint and whipped a curler into the far corner.
  • 45’+3’ â€“ A free kick was cleared to the edge of the box and a wide open Jesus Ferreira’s shot was charged down and blocked.


Second Half:


  • 52’ â€“ Joan Jordan’s free kick from 25 yards was whipped over the wall with pace and into the back of the net.
  • 56’ â€“ Edwin Gyasi took on his man on the left wing and whipped in a cross which Francis Atuahene headed just over the crossbar.
  • 83’ â€“ The ball came to Nolito in the box, whose deflected curling nestled in the back of the net.
  • 87’ â€“ Alejandro Pozo was played through, but his shot from a tight angle was parried behind by Jimmy Maurer.
  • 89 â€“ Nolito was left open in the box and Jimmy Maurer showed catlike reflexes to get across the goalmouth and make the save.
