The 18-year-old Homegrown player accepted a pass on the right flank and beat a defender with a step over move before firing a low shot towards the far post. Suchitepequez goalkeeper Manuel Sosa did well to get a hand to the shot, pushing the attempt wide of the post for an FC Dallas corner kick.

FC Dallas came alive in the 58th minute when Victor Ulloa gained control of the ball at midfield. Ulloa pushed the ball forward to Tesho, who found Ruiz open at the back post but the prolific goal scorer lifted his shot too high and the ball rebounded off the crossbar before being rushed away by the Suchitepequez defense.

Dallas continued to push forward in search of a goal in the 71st minute. Substitutes Kellyn Acosta and Tesho connected with a cross played in to the latter from the right flank. Tesho met the curled ball with a header that flew just wide of the post to Sosa’s left side.

Suchitepequez’s Amaury Escoto nearly put his team ahead in the 75th minute. After a blocked shot landed at his feet the No. 10  attempted to pick out the back post but FC Dallas goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez was able to push the shot wide with a diving save to his left.

Acosta found Getterson with a laser cross in the 86th minute. The Brazilian got his foot on the ball but could not keep his attempt on target as the shot whistled wide of the far post.
Ruiz nearly pushed the ball over the line after a shot by Timo Pitter slipped through the legs of Sosa in the 90th minute. Ruiz and Sosa were tangled, keeping the FCD forward from finishing off the chance before a Suchitepequez defender cleared the ball off the line.
